The first trailer for The Campaign was released on May 11, 2012[4] and was met with mixed feedback. One reviewer at Ain't It Cool News commented after viewing the trailer that he was, "optimistic that [audiences] are going to see something funny from The Campaign". [5] GeekScholars Movie News, however, gave the preview an average score of "D+", on an A+ to F- scale, noting that the characters appeared to be surprisingly clichéd and uninspired given the strong comedic talent cast in the film.
